TARGETS

  • OT Kadyn Proctor 6’7”330 (Des Moines, IA) #12 – This 5-star offensive lineman committed to the hometown Hawkeyes in the summer and then Iowa preceded the implementation of one of the worst Power 5 offenses in recent memory. It’s easy to see why Proctor is wavering from his earlier decision. So he and his parents paid an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa this past weekend. All signs point to a happy union between Proctor and Alabama, but he will have the difficult task of leaving his home state at the altar. I still say it’s a 50-50 chance. Announcing 8:45 am CT. AND IS
  • DL James Smith 6’3” 310 (Montgomery, AL) #18 and LB Wed Russaw 6’2” 230 (Montgomery, AL) #22 – This 5-star package maintains from the beginning that they will be signed to the same program. As two of the top candidates in 2023, there was a lot of fanfare surrounding their recruitment. IMHO, they made up their minds a long time ago. Unless they’re planning some silly announcement to shock the world, expect them to sign Tide. The duo is announcing Wednesday around 1 pm CT on ESPNU. AND IS
  • CB Desmond Ricks 6’1”170 (IMG/Chesapeake, VA) #23 – Ricks recently reclassified to the 2023 class. Despite the rise, it is still rated 5 stars. It’s been a turbulent recruiting period for him. LSU feels like the leader, but Bama isn’t out of it yet. He will announce it Thursday around 5:30 pm at CBS Sports HQ.
  • CB Damari Brown 6’1” 180 (Fort Lauderdale, FL) #185 – The 4-star is a legacy of Miami, but as we’ve seen in recent recruiting cycles, it’s not as important as it used to be. That said, his brother, Davonte Brown, was a starting CB at UCF and just announced a transfer to Miami on Monday night. There’s no word if there’s a package going on here. Damari attends American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale, the same school that produced Patrick Surtain II and Earl Little Jr., so Bama also has some connection. The Crimson Tide still have a chance with him on Wednesday, but it won’t be easy. Announcing at 2:15 pm CT.
  • YOU lucas hasz 6’3” 245 (Bixby, OK) #195 – It’s another 50-50 shot at this 4 star that is currently committed to Arkansas. Bama has put all the court press on him in recent weeks. The Razorbacks recently lost head coach Dowell Loggains to South Carolina, which left the door ajar. Announcing 11am CT.

LONGSHOT

  • 4 star DL Jordan Hall (Jacksonville, FL) – Probably UGA.
  • Ole Miss LB Commitment Suntarine Perkins 4-Star Linebacker (Raleigh, MS) – There’s talk he can wait until February to sign. If this happens, watch out!

  • CB Tyler Scott The 3-star cornerback from Mableton, GA looks like Plan C. I predict Auburn.
